Count the days between two dates
Pick a start date, then an end date or a length of time: a number of working days, calendar days, weeks or months. Click Calculate. You get the end date and the number of working days, calendar days, weeks, months, weekends and public holidays in the period.
By default, the first day is not counted and the last day is: from Monday the 2nd to Friday the 6th, there are 4 calendar days. Tick Count the first day under the results to get 5. The number of nights, handy for holidays, is shown under the calendar days: 4 nights in this example.
Working days and calendar days
- Calendar days: every day, including weekends and public holidays.
- Working days: Monday to Friday, without public holidays. This is what most companies use.
The calculator uses French public holidays. It is made for anyone who works in France or with French teams.
Add working days to a date
For a delivery time, a notice period or a deadline, choose Working days in the end date and type the number of days. The calculator skips Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and shows the due date. It works the same way for weeks and months. See also: add working days to a date, working days in 2026 and in 2027.
Public holidays in France
The calculator counts the 10 national public holidays. Whit Monday is counted as a working day, because many companies use it as a "solidarity day". Bridge days and long weekends are listed on the French public holidays 2026 and 2027 pages.

Week numbers
The calendars show the week number in the "W" column, and the results give the start and end week. It uses the ISO 8601 standard: weeks start on Monday, and week 1 is the week that contains 4 January.
How many weeks, months and weekends?
The number of weeks is the calendar days divided by 7, with the remaining days shown. The number of months counts full months from a date to the same date the next month, then the remaining days. A weekend counts as soon as its Saturday or Sunday is in the period.
